Hi All,
Just installing a tex 48 for the 1 st time, with LCD panel.

On power up I get the following
System Alerts
Press 1 then menu I get system alerts, then 2 plus menu call CTS to rest system, then 3 then menu I get call CTS centre to reset system.

How to I clear this so I can get into programming to start setting up zones etc.

Cheers
Will

If your installing it for the first time I'll gues there will be faults on it as not everything will be wired and connected when you power up (best way to do it), so you wont clear the system alerts just yet. However it what your doing with the 1+menu, 2+menu just displays the customer help messages (its actually menu+1, menu+2 etc)

Im guessing as premiers dont come with engineering manuals that you dont know the default engineer codes? (default eng=1234, default customer=5678)

Hope this helps?

Ahh right, thank you, no manual the PDF is still on my PC back at old house, all I have is my trusty iPad here.

Just to get me started, how do I get into engineer mode?

Should be able to work from there, unless someone would be kind enough to post a link to te engineers guide?

Thanks all

Will.

PS,
All 8 zones are wired, tamp has loops for now just to make it easier for setting up

Got most things setup now, I'm am left with one error, it says Aux Tamper, anyone know what that is?

Cheers

Right hand side of the PCB is the Auxillary tamper, there's 2 terminals which you can either link out with a bit of wire, or you can switch it off via programming, I 'think' its one one the things you can switch off in Global options > Monitor Hardware.[/i]

Just a little tip, as default the panel will stop you using a code to unset the system until AFTER the entry timer has run out, to disable it you need to switch off the 'lock by timer' bit of each code by pressing 0 on that section. Not explained well but will become clearer when you cant switch it off the first time you arm it.

Fantastic, thank you.

All working well now.

Loving this system, once you got head round it, its powerful.

could you explain this a little more i have searched in wintex for this setting but i can not find it.

Thanks

Paul

As standard premiers come setup to force you top use a TAG to unset the system, as a result of this the panel wont accept codes while the system is unsetting. This can be switched off for each user added on the system. In wintex.

Using the keypad its again in 'Setup Users' and is called Locked by timer, usually C is the one that is switched on.

It's not the default setting on the panels I've used...

A few do.
I`m just asking why :p

I know, i`m sure you do. Just wondering if others do. Its one thing saying x does this and y does that.................Why do they do it?

Really?

So would a grade 3 panel have keypad lock, or a grade 2 panel have it?
Or would one down graded have it as well?
