Hi guys im newish on here (couldnt remeber my old username or email)

Having a look around my attic ive found white mould in two places in my attic if prodded the wood with a knife and its still solid, should i just clean it of and use some chemical anti mould stuff on it or could it be worse?

After searching through this forum ive realised that when i insulated the attic years ago i layed it tight up to the roof could this be causing it?

Sorry if this should be in the roofing section and thanks in advance

You should leave ventilation gaps around the eaves to allow air circulation.
What are you roof tile made of?
I say this as it looks like efflorescence.
But some moulds are white, some moulds start as white then change colour.
If you can remove some and place it in water, if it dissolves it is efflorescence, if not mould.
If mould, clean the area with a diluted bleach solution.

thanks for your reply the roof tiles are concrete ill try putting it in water tonight and see what happens
