Safer Wax Stain Removal

After singeing my new berber carpet slightly using the iron technique, I decided to use the milk steamer on my electric espresso machine to melt wax on a carpet.

This generates steam hotter than water's boiling point, so doesn't wet the carpet. Then I dabbed it with a cotton rag to absorb the wax.

Worked very well.

You could try other steamers, but my guess would be that unless the steam is hotter (because it is under pressure) the capet will become wet, and the dabbing rag, if it soaks up water, will repel the wax.

If you want to try this on finished wood furniture, try it on "imaginary wax on a spot that won't show ans I think steam will damage many finishes.

CAUTION! THIS STEAM IS VERY HOT AND will BURN YOU AND FAST!
