Our machine is still under a five year warrentee with four month left to run .A couple of days ago it would not switch on and the diplay showed
WPA (water preesure switch activated ) .The manual suggested for a technician to call .The customer service advsor however said that this condition could go if the machine was left over night to dry out .It was due to water in the base .We put it near a dehumidifier for several hours and the fault cleared and the machine was back to normal .
We did notice a strong smell of cats form the machine .This was cleared by a hot wash of 93 C with no load .
We were advised that should a technician call and find no fault we would be charged £120 .

So what is your question about....the cat smell or the leak?
The first thing a Miele tech will do is put the machine into service mode & read the fault log. If the WPS has been activated he'll get an F138 error. In all likelihood they'll probably blame you for using too much detergent & that may well be the case. Overfoaming, internal leaks, or a faulty inlet valve can throw up this error. You don't have to dry the machine out for hours on end with a dehumidifier to get a re-start. Simply lean the washer forward to drain the water out then off you go. In the meantime use the machine as normal & measure the detergent instead of guessing. Wait & see if the error comes back before calling Miele out. I can't help you with the cat smell, but if you do have one I would blame it
