Biggest problem is trying to fit the cover on after installation with the MK units. It just never wants to go on right

I've stopped using MK consumer units too. Some of there switches don't seem very good either now.

The sockets, grid switches and FCUs still seem ok though.

IIRC it's the Memera AD series of MCBs that will only accept the small prongs. They also have a lower breaking capacity, and will not accept the RCBO pods. The part no's have (?had?) an AD prefix.

Yep, the old white MCB's will not accept pods (but have wide jaws to fit any of the boards).



The AD MCB's have narrow jaws and are only 6ka, and will not accept pods. They where subsidised in price and so designed to only fit the domestic CU's (some wholesalers still sold them at prices comparative to others though!). Only available in type B, and oddly, the 50amp AD MCB had wide jaws.



The others (MCH, ALB etc) had the wider jaws and would accept pods.



The commercial ones are still available and still manufactured, Eaton are obliged to carry on manufacture for 10 years after they stopped producing the memshield 2 boards. The new memshield 3 uses eaton branded Moeller MCB's. They are not interchangeable.
