pebble dash/render dash

Hi guys, im trying to pebbledash using a mix of 5.1.1, (sand,lime,cement) but it is a crap grey colour when it dries. How do folk make it that nice yellow colour?

I do not know huge amounts about this but Bricks & Brass website, (http://www.bricksandbrass.co.uk/diymats/lime/mortar.htm) have always been very useful.

You can add various additves & pigments to achive different colours.

There is a forum on there that may well be able to help out.

Why would anyone want to pebble dash a house, in this day and age?

you could use white cement, but new concrete/mortar starts off grey and goes lighter.

I suppose it depends on the style of the property and a lower maintenance instead of painting.
