Additional Light

We have had an extension built in the last 12 months. I wish to add an additional light in the new bedroom to work of the one switch.(2 lights,1 switch) With new laws etc. can i add this light? What connections should i make. Should i use 1.5mm cable?

Answer is no you shouldnt do yourself but if you did

1.5 should be fine take the wiring from the existin rose using the neutral, earth and taking the live from the switch side.
Make sure whichever lights your putting in do not put you into overload on t he circuit
 
Sorry to disagree with you delmel but under Part P this is allowed. You are permitted to add to existing circuits as long as they are not in a special location.

1.5 is the right cabling for this job.
