I wish to use the existing outside lamp but incorporate a remote PIR to enable the lamp to activate as i enter the rear of the property. The wiring diagram is straight forward in terms of supply the feed to the PIR and back to the lamp. The lamp is switched from inside the house off a 2 way switch. On opening the lamp I have two black cables feeding the bulb holder and what appears a pair of faded red wires joined via a connector block. The is also a separate earth.
Question is which is the live feed in and what wires reconnect to the existing bulb holder from the PIR

you will need a multi meter to find out, would you expect to put nails in with a bag of flour?

when you get a meter you will find one black is neutral, the other is switched live
