Is it possible to add a new double socket from the back of a single socket which I belive is part way along a radial circuit protected by a 32 MCB?
The circuit is in a small flat and is the only circuit feeding the electrical sockets.
Any advice greatly received.

Thanks for the reply.
Probably a daft question, but is there anyway of telling if the cable is 4mm - other than going into a shop and comparing with one there.
Also I have noticed elsewhere in my flat there is another double socket spur off a double socket but this appears to have been wired between the two using a domestic appliance cable (e.g. similar to a kettle or washing machine) - Am I correct in assuming this in unsafe? - It was in theflat when I moved in!!

Get an electrician in to do a Periodic Inspection Report. If you have found these two faults already, what else could be lurking around!. |

If the second double socket was wired in 2.5.sq.mm. flex, through a 13amp fuse-connection unit, then it should be safe (assuming the earthing is satisfactory). |
