There is a long delay of about 30 seconds when i turn my kitchen light on.

It never used to be that slow coming on. I've changed the tube but it's still the same.

The light is a flourescent tube 58w.

Any ideas?

Thanks.

Try replacing the starter. It is a short plastic cylindrical gadget that plugs into the ceiling fitting either under the tube or on the side.

and if that doesn't work, then the ballast has gone. You may need a new light fitting. Good news- they're only about 15 quid.

when you replace the starter try an electronic starter they fire up much quicker and without the flicker (much dearer though)
