A tart burner was bumped, and wax from the tart splattered on the range panel. If I try to scrap it off, the black finish is removed. Is there a way to remover the wax without removing the finish as well? Thanks for any help.

Boiling hot water from the kettle pored over it will melt the wax (make certain you wear thick kitchen gloves when you wipe it up)
