I have just installed a shower pump. It is fed with 22mm from a cold water tank in the loft. This tank is just over 1m from the shower head. Preassure is v. low without the pump, and for some reason when the hot tap is turned on, the pump doesn't always start up, and preassure is still low.
The pump is salamander RSV 45 (1.3 bar). Is this enough for a shower and other upstairs taps. Any help would be much appreciated!

Negative head springs to mind, where is the pump located in relation to the cold tank?

If the hot flow is very poor then it might be inadequate to operate the flow switch on the pump.

I had this recently and had to fit a neg. head pump even though the head was positive - worked like a charm.
