we are doing up a house and in the kitchen we are fitting new kitchen units from scratch. because we have knocked some dividing walls down within the kitchen it has left the elctricity meter etc positioned on the back wall but about a foot away from the adjoining wall.
we are fitting a 1000mm sink unit on back wall and a 1000mm corner unit joining to the right of it.

the problem we are going to have is that the electricity meter etc is positioned half across the two adjoining units.

what are the reg's regarding the meter etc being in close proximity to underneath the sink area? can we just box it in?
