I`m fitting a Honeywell Thermostat from scratch.
What i need to know is:
What size wiring do i need to use ?
Can anyone give me a wiring diagram, What colour goes Where etc?
I will be taking the live from the ring main, What size fuse can i use?
The installation instructions don`t seem to be for the average DIYer!!!

I`m fitting a new central heating system from scratch, the rads & pipe work have been done all i need to do is fit the STAT. it will be then ready for the plumber to fit the boiler & commission.

Any help will be good

Think again what you are intending to do, the boiler and its controls must only be fed from one supply source, thermostat from control center or from boiler, depending on system.

A size suitable for the current that will be drawn allowing for derating factors as required

Did you not get one with the stat?

One that has a rating suitable for the current as designed with a breaking capacity adequate to take the load and fault currents and to clear a fault suffiently fast so as to not cause danger or fire

If you do not understand it, leave it to someone who does. Remember that electricity is dangerous.

No comment, as I am not a competent plumber/heating engineer

You seem to think that this is a menial task, yet do not know how to do it?

The installation instructions are for anybody with enough skill and knowledge to do the job.

Whether that is the level of skill and knowledge of the average DIYer I cannot say, but it does seem as though it is above your level.

It isn't rocket science you pompous idiot. Anyone can learn. Either give the guy a bit of help or keep your deliberately ambiguous replies to yourself.
