The dryer turns on ok and tumbles but clothes remain wet and cold. No heat at all is generated. Any ideas please?

Yes, sounds like your thermostat has gone, which usually happens when you switch the machine off hot without letting it run that last few minutes cool to get rid of the heat, have you been doing this ?
They come in pairs and should be replaced in pairs. Look under tumble dryers here; http://www.appliance-spares.com/

If you need any more info (where they are, how to test, etc), come back here.

you can reset your existing thermostat cut out. it will be the one with either a red or green spot on it. unplug your machine and remove the back cover. the stats are on top of the heater box. now VERY VERY carefully get a slow running drill with a 1mm bit in it and drill dead centre in the stat making sure that you only drill through the plastic and NOT the innards of the stat. after doing this take a pin or similar and poke through the hole until it clicks. that is your fault fixed. if it quickly reoccurs then you need to work out why.

Or you can take it out and bridge the contacts with a nail, lol. Is that what you do Keith and then charge them for new parts ? Only jesting..
