Can I run a 12" fan using a standard plug socket or does in have to be wired to a fuse box?

what sort of 12 inch fan is it?

at work we have 2 12 inch industrial extractor fans near a fridge compressor, connected to individual thermostats and FCUs, all run in plastic conduit, all nice and neat. The feed for the 2 FCUs is a 13A plug and 1.5mm˛ flex which just comes from a hole in the side of one FCU. icon_eek.gif
