Hi,

I`m after some advice, my toilet does not seem to remove waste from it. Subsequently I have to pour a bucket of water down to remove heavy waste. I have replaced the syphon and this seems to have improved the flush slightly but will still not flush well. I have tried to clean out any blockages from under the rim. As I live in a flat my kitchen sink, bath and basin all drain through toilet connection. Is it something to do with this or simply a crap toilet that needs replacing.

Looking forward to some advice

Cheers

have you checked the water level in the cistern??

If it has a brass ball valve bend the arm upwards slightly to let more water into the cistern, i would gauge it so it fills around 1/2" below overflow pipe.

If it's a plastic arm, get a pair of pliars and adjust the screw to let more water in, this can be found on top of the arm and then re-tighten the screw once adjusted.

If the water level in the cistern is correct and flushing has always been a problem get a new loo.

The test standard in this country is hopelessly inadequate.

I have come across several pan styles that don't work properly (some of them very expensive brands)

When buying a new loo shove your hand down the U bend, compare the cross sectional area and how smooth it is, there can be quite a difference between makes.
