A friend is presently running 2 PCs with monitors & speaker amps off a single mains socket using extensions leads.
Should he fit a spur? He would need say 6 to 8 sockets, and presumably should have a single or double socket at the end of his spur on the wall, then use extensions to get his multiple sockets. Is this acceptable for one spur?
Should there be a fuse box where the spur joins the ring mains?
And for future reference, how much currect would a modern PC and monitor draw?
Thanks in advance. |

You also need to ensure that the earth leakage current is low enough as to not cause a danger as per Section 607 of BS7671. |
