Hi Guys

Looking for a heads up on this problem with the 54 plate Bus , Recently the Anti-pollution warning has come up , causing the Engine to gom into limp mode , if I switch off and restart it , it usually clears , The Car has done 106k , and is generally in good condition , it gets all sorts of trips ie Town and good runs on the Motorway

Is there a reservoir that pumps a fluid into the Sensor to clean it , I`m sure I have read that somewhere , if there is , is it feasible/possible to replenish the Reservoir with the Fluid as required ?? or is it a Garage job ?

Cheers

Unfortunately its usually a garage / specialist job to replenish the Eloys fluid tank, thats used to keep the diesel particulate output minimal.
John :)

I read about that before but cannot remember how they keep the job for the boys!

Perhaps you can buy illegal fluid somewhere and inject it in?

Like refilling print cartridges!!!

Thanks for your answer John , I`ve done some research and I see you can buy the Fluid on Fleebay , so wou,d it be feasible to refill it myself , apparently the Reservoir is just above the Offside Rear Wheel , But then the ECU would need resetting ? , Is this resetting a job my Local Garage could do ? , he has Diagnostic Kit etc ...

Regards..

Sorry I can't answer that one, as I've never done that job.....however, I reckon that if a garage can, then so can I!
I don't know if the warning sign cancels automatically, but I suspect it will.
Lets know!
John :)

You can buy the necessary fluid OK but if I understand correctly the system doesn't actually detect the reservoir contents as such it adds the number of doses that is injected into the fuel!

This means that to cancel the warnings you need someone with Lexia Diagnostic Interface in order to reset this counter, hence probably the reason it is a dealer job to refill.

Google for removal of this system. Loads out there offering the service and details of how to disable it as well. Apparently makes no effect on MOT (according to the many internet links).

I am not aware of any other car adding this fluid.

It seems annoying that the makers make it a closed shop job for their main dealers.

As always some will work out how to bypass it but I just find it annoying.

What would worry me is knowing if the illegal fluid on Ebay is actually doing the job and not just coloured water!

Luckily my old 406 does not have any of that rubbish!
