In our new house the supply cable earth is already attached to the mounting box earth terminal. Is it perfectly OK to attach the earth on a metal dimmer switch to the same mounting box terminal i.e. I'd have 2 wires connected there? Is there any preference for the dimmer's earth to mounting box earth terminal, being sleeved cable rather than flex?

for the earth link between backbox and faceplate sleeved earth from T&E is acceptable but it can be a little unwieldly.

a bit of earth from flex of appropriate size (e.g. 1mm or more for lighting stuff) would be fine so would a peice of single core earth wire.
