floor finishes - to oil or not to oil?

Does anyone have any advice on the type of floor finishes available? I have just completed the installation of an oak tongue & grooved floor floating over a old concrete floor and I don't know what type of finish to go for. I am tempted by the oil option instead of lacquer and wondered if anyone had any advice
