Hi

Have just started to paint my daughter's bedroom walls today and it is going horribly wrong!

As we are putting the one coat emulsion on the wall, so it is coming straight off again, paint flakes sticking to the roller sleeve. It doesn't happen on the whole wall/s just random patches.

The walls are currently painted with, what I assume, is normal white emulsion.

I don't know if it's relevant or not but the ceiling was plastered on Tuesday so don't know if it's got anything to do with splashes of PVA. It looks horrendous - all patchy and flaky.

I would really appreciate any help/advice anyone can give me please.

Having re-read my post, have realised that I haven't described the problem very well so will add a photo tomorrow.

Don`t worry -get some water based Zinsser bullseye 1-2-3 from a decorators merchant or screwfix, use on the patches after sanding them a little ;)

Thanks Nige.

Without seeing a photo, do you have any idea what might have caused the problem?

Its possible the Plasterer used PVA to seal the plaster, or has "Over Polished" the finish coat of Plaster

Thanks BW.

The walls weren't plastered, only the ceiling, which is why I wondered whether the walls got splashed with PVA when he did the ceiling
