KitchenAid repeats cancel cycle only

I have a Kitchen Aid quiet scrub model that is about 7 years old. With the door closed, I select the cycles I want and press start, but after 2 seconds, it turns off the buttons I illuminated, and \\\"cancel\\\" and \\\"clean\\\" illuminate, and it runs a brief \\\"cancel\\\" cycle- sounds like it is trying to drain water (though theres none in there) Help![/b][/quote]

i have the same dishwasher (kitchenaid, clean scrub) its not that old and it does the same thing. it has done this pretty much since i had it put in my kitchen! mine seems to want to start in the middle of a cycle and when i cancel it it too runs briefly like its draining water that isnt in there and when i try to start it again.... its the same thing all over again. sometimes i try so many times to start the darn thing and fail i give up and have try later. most of the time its the same deal!!!!! are there any known recalls that you know of?
