We have had one of these for about 8 years. It started "sticking", but would go with a thump. Now it won't. Are there any replaceable bushes, or does anyone have any other ideas?

Thanks

Disconnect mains power.
Clean all the grease from the motor!

Guessing filters have regularly been cleaned/replaced, of course.

I split the plastic housing, Should the rotors come away? Don?t want to do any damage.

Thanks

Not sure without seeing photos

It could be build up of grease hence why thumping it made it work.
Could be a loose connection or faulty switch.

Could be a cap if applicable, not enough umph to spin the motor but a thump assists with the initial start up, but unlikely.

Provide photos and we/I can identify parts and assist further.

Thanks for your responses. I stripped it as far as I dare, an sprayed with hi heat WD40 type stuff an is now working.Time will tell! The fan blades were not terribly gungy but cleaned what I could.

Will come back, if I may, if problem recurs

Yeah could be bearings seizing, in which case will come back very soon, in fact shortly after wd40 has dried out.
Though hopefully not, but yes by all means thats what we are here to do!
