Hi,
Can anyone advise me please? I'm installing my own open-vented, Y-plan CH pipework and have just discovered I need to incorporate an automatic bypass valve circuit. As far as I understand it, it is just an ABV on 22mm tube at some point between the flow and return from the boiler. For convenience, I would like to put it after the pump between the mid-position valve inlet and the return from the cylinder. Would that be OK? If it is placed at the highest point, will I need to include an air vent in addition to the one on the 28mm cylinder inlet?
All help gratefully received.
Thanks

SOunds ok but follow your boiler mfrs instructions which vary.
You need an air vent if the pump, or gravity, wouldn't push air through to the highest point.

Thanks Chris - Boiler instructions just say bypass must be at least 1.5m away. Cheers
