Am I right in thinking there are rules on concealing glass panes, such as painting over them, due to the risk of the public on releasing it is fragile.

Sure I have seen something on this and I have certainly still an installation where there where iso looking decals warning that a panel which had been painted out was glass but I cannot for the life of me find out about in googling around the subject.

I guess the specific question would be; is there an regulation the prevents the masking/covering/concealing of glass, due to the increased risk of impact due to people not know it is glass or otherwise.

Aka, can you paint over a sheet of glass and make it look like a wall, or is there regulations preventing that, in a public space or otherwise.

And or, any signage which must be used, and or can be used to allow it.

No regulations to prevent you from making glazing opaque. Though there maybe local rules preventing you from making a shopfront opaque for example. But there is nothing preventing it in the Planning or Building Regulations Legislation.

People walk into glass because it's transparent. Why would someone walk into an opaque panel? How does painting it make it less safe?

Fair enough.

Because you can paint over what previously looked like a glass window (which, assuming they see it, people take care off) and make it look like a wall or wooden panel or the like, so they then are happy to put a ladder against it or the like.

Heard someone talking about it and have see 'warning this is glass' type stickers one, all sort of made sense, but couldnt find anything much about it.

That is all!
