central heating noise

I have this chugging sound which is like a steam train in the distance, It seems to come from the boiler. have you any ideas?

Sounds as if youhave left the filling loop open and the pressure relief valve is opening repeatedly to reduce the pressure.

See if the pressure gauge is reading too high! Should be about 1.5 Bar but if over 3 Bar is too high.

Thanks, but it is a conventional system with a breather pipe at the header tank, so there is no real pressure.
I have put fernox superconsentrate noise remover in and it has helped.
Have you any other ideas.
