I am considering buying a house with an external garage. We would potentially like to replace the washing machine in the kitchen with a dishwasher and move the washing machine to the separate garage. This would involve digging up some concrete and running a cold water pipe to the garage.

How much is this likely to cost in the South East and would planning permission by required?

no planing permission needed that I know of, as for price get at least three estimates

You might also want to consider what happens to the appliances when the temperature drops below zero - most machines don't react well to having their insides frozen!

also consider drainage.

your money might be better spent having a small flat roof kitchen extension, it would add value, be more convenient, and you could still use the garage for the car.

on the other hand it might be cheaper to "send out" the laundry.
