Is it safe to use fingernail polish remover on jewelry or will it damage it?

I managed to get super glue on a ring of mine and was wondering if I could use fingernail polish to get it off.

wouldnt expect superglue to stick for too long
all the powders greases soaps that get on your hands are going to be ingrained into the ring

have you tried carefull picking it off with your nails
or is it much more than a drip!!!! icon_cry.gif

Probably not, unles its got some soft stone in it like an Opal... easiest is to get a jewler to slip it in a Sonic cleaning tank, itll come out like new.

The only "stone" I could see nail polish remover (acetone) harming would be amber, and it's not actually a stone, it's solidified tree sap.

I'd go ahead and use it to remove the glue.
