my house built in 1969 has tiles (type unknown) in all rooms on the ground floor installed by builders. I want to lay some self adhesive vinyl tiles over these but evidently they will not stick to thermoplastic tiles. How do identify wether the tiles are thermoplastic? if they are is there anything I can do to overcome the problem? |

for tiles to be thermoplastic they have to be .....plastic
your tiles are most likley to be ceramic or quarry tiles so as long as theres no build up of polish they will stick to them......but .....I wouldnt stick them directly personally I would put down some hardboard sheets, secure them down and stick the tiles to that. |
