shower fan wiring???

Hi- I just purchased a shower fan. There is a square recessed ceiling light there now. Can I just take out that light and put the fan in its place. I purchased same square fan. Is the wiring different for fans? Or can I just wire it like a regualr light fixture? Also, The is a vanity light that is controlled by the same switch. Is this ok to just have one switch? I don\\\'t care if both go on at the same time. Thanks!
