i am tiling round the bath/shower and have fitted sheets of ply round the bath to give me a nice flat surface to tile on. i have read that you use pva to seal the ply before tiling is this right? i have a bottle of pva but have a number of options for dilution, 4:1 water:pva has been suggested on websites and this is an option on the bottle. any help would be appreciated

As chappers says it all depends which tile adhesive you use ... some say NO as the adhesive can sometimes fail
I always used Bal FASTFLEX , an never had any problems with it.. icon_smile.gif

Moz,

You say that you have used Bal Fastflex. Do I need to prime the exterior grade plywood prior to use? I intend to use Bal Fastflex to lay ceramic floor tiles in my bathroom

There is so much conflicting information for we novices!

Thank you
