Does anyone know of a product on the market which can be applied over wallpaper to make it waterproof? Basically we cannot find a suitable pattern in a vinyl paper, only non-vinyl patterned paper.
Many thanks in advance.

Thanks for your reply growler. Is this an acceptable practice? Will the varnish flake off over time as it is designed for wooden surfaces?

Paper used to be varnished over but I wouldn't recommend doing it. It wont flake off but you may never be able to strip it.....dreadful job.
Maybe someone else has a better idea but I would seriously steer clear of sealing the paper.....you might just live long enough to regret it.

You cannot seal paper. If you varnish it it will go an very nasty brown colour.

Paper is so '80s' anyway, just paint it.
