Indesit washing machine tripping the electric - any ideas???

My washing machine was 20minutes into a wash cycle when the electric tripped out. Any ideas as to why this has happened?? I have checked the fuse but I don't think it would be that as it allows the wash to start but not finish!! The washing machine does make a lot of noise usually - could this be the fault!!!

When you say "a lot of noise", could this be a grinding noise? Like a worn bearing?

If so, you might find that water is escaping through the worn seal of the bearing and reaching parts that it really shouldn't.

Or, it could be a corroded heater element.

Or, it could be a short in the motor windings.

Or, it could be a chafed cable.
