i want to fix a pir light outside front door can i run flex to nearest light, do i need junction box?

I'm only an amateur sparky, but I think it best you run the cable to the security light from a lighting circuit junction box in the roof void.

you should feed the light with 1mm twin and earth and a fused spur (for isolaton) but so long as it, and existing lights does not exceed the total of 5 - 6A (unlikely) all will be fine
