Ariston diswasher door won't open?

Hello all,

Our Ariston dishwasher (I think the model number is lsv66) door is stuck closed. I think the latch mechanism is only working on one side (the left). I was thinking of taking off the control panel but the dishwasher is built-in to the kitchen so I can't get to what I think are the screws that hold the panel together. Any thoughts/hints
