red wine on table

following a dinner party where a glass of red wine was spilt, we removed a table mat to find that it had run underneath, we have an oak veneer table & the wine had blistered the wood, leaving hard lumps behind, does anyone have any idea's other than a new table please? icon_sad.gif

sounds like it has lifted the glue, unless you can split the veneers, re glue and compress back i wouldnt hold my breath
