Having been given a fuse box containing MCB's whereas I am used to the old type fuse box - the ratings on the MCB's (3) are 16, 16 and 32.
I appreciate that I would connect to 16's for power sockets but would a need an MCB of lower rating for a lighting circuit.

My consumer unit has three 20A MCBs for three socket ring mains, another 20A for the immersion heater in the hot water cylinder, a 32A for an electric cooker circuit, and two 10As for lighting ring mains, one upstairs, and one downstairs. The main incomer is a 63A swirch/fuse and there is also a 63A RCD protecting the socket circuits. I think this i a fairly typical set-up. Hope this helps.
