He hit it on the head, once you have selected a programme extra on a Miele machine you need to deselect it again give it a push and it should go away if on the other hand the machine is flashing this light during the programme givre the model number nad i'll tell you exactly what the fault pertains to.

Oh my God - It's An 842 This flashing LED means theres a data transfer error between the memmory and the data processor, basically it looks like a new timer only the Miele diagnostic software will tell for sure, possibly a new timer
