the radiators get piping hot but the water comes out cold, the situation has got worse as for a couple of weeks we had to put radiators on to get hot water and nothing happens when we set equipment just for water.

A bit more info on your system may help in finding the fault

house was built in 1989, under the stairs it is a baxi with a UP2 Dual Channel prgrammer, c/heat blr solo 2 PF 40. and upstairs in the airing cupboard is an M.D indirect cylinder, unishare with port a and b on it, a Euramo Gold (i think its a pump it get very hot and it has a black box joined underneath with electrical wire going to switch).

The Unishare is a motorised valve.

Either the cylinder stat has failed ( rare if not touched ) or the motor valve has failed. It may have a lever to hand move it until you can change it.

where is the lever? i'm afraid i cannot see one can you describe where i might find it and what to do when/if found

all help is greatly appriciated

I have had a look at the Sunvic MI but they do not mention a manual lever. Most have one but perhaps yours does not.

If you remove the head then you can move the shaft with pliars to get some hot water or HW and CH together.
