Spur to outside socket
Reply with quote Thanks

Hi.

I want to add an ip rated socket to the outside of my house for strimmer / mower type use and would like to spur off a socket from the kitchen ring main.

The ring is protected at the CU by an rcd so can i just simply drill a hole in the kitchen wall and connect (spur) the socket to the dishwasher socket??

Thanks for any help.

As long as the socket you wish to spur off is not a spur itself, or already serving a spur, then yes, but as the socket you wish to spur off is in the kitchen, then its definatly notifiable work (if it was not in the kitchen, its a bit more grey tbh)

Thanks mate.

Its not a spur just part of the existing ring and because its my house i'll notify the MRS of the work to be undertaken.

Cheers
