ceramic tile removal

My mom is getting ready to sell her house that she rented to my brother. He put Ceramic tile in the living room and it looks stupid and I dont think anyone will buy the house with it like this. We are going to recarpet but first must remove the tile. How is the best way to do this?

I'm having the same problem. I already removed my tile and am having a problem getting up the mortar because it didn't come up when I pulled up the tile. All I used was a cold chisel and a 4lb. hammer. It wasn't easy and I wish I knew this because I probably would have hired somebody.
