Hello there, thank you for all the info it has been really helpful. My question is - i am thinking about laying a reclaimed floor in a kitchen dinning room, would it be ok near the kitchen area? would it be advisable to seal it against water damage and what products are available? thank you. |

Parquet (wood blocks in pattern or mosaic tiles) can be installed in kitchens. As a finish you could use HardWaxOil, seals the floor against drips and spillages. Plus because you shuffle more than you walk in a kitchen a HardWaxOil finish is better. Lacquer or varnish will get worn more and earlier which will leave heavy traffic spots in the kitchen unprotected after a while and have to be re-sanded and resealed in the end, where a HardWaxOil finish properly maintained (with wax or waxpolish) will keep the wood protected. __________________ You buy quality, we'll advise.
