I have some large pieces of lemon in my kitchen drain BEYOND the trap. I have used a snake and at about 10 feet in I can feel the obstruction. Instead of pushing THROUGH the obstruction I feel like the snake is actually pushing the obstruction farther down the pipe.
What should I do or try next (besides calling a plumber)?

Thanks in advance for any advice/help you can give.

TRY A RAT

measure where it is from the snake, cut the pipe remove the obstruction and rejoin the pipe. If that's not possible, make it possible.

LOts of boiling water might soften it enough to shift it.
Sulphuric acid type drain cleaner would dissolve it. Nasty stuff though.

I would be tempted to live with it for a while it wont take long to rot. As has been suggested you could try putting drain cleaner (although I think that is for grease). It will decompose eventually.

How did a lemon big enough to block a 40mm pipe get through the sink drain hole?
