I have 2 e-mail addresses and both are accessed with Outlook (Office 2003).
On my Hotmail account I've started getting alot of spam (you know, "buy online meds" and "buy a copied Rolex" etc etc). In the junk e-mail options I've selected "Safe lists only", this should (in my understanding) send anything from anyone that isn't on my safe list to the junk e-mail folder instead of my inbox. However, it doesn't seemed to have worked. I keep getting the same sort of spam from what I'm sure is the same source by they change their name every day so that adding them to my blocked list is futile.
Does anyone have a solution for this?
Thanks

contact or look at you isp's web page

i have a website(s) and assoiated email address and the host offer an "abuse service" in short any spam i forward to abuse@mywebhost dot whatever

and they block it.

another thing i found useful was as spam keeps changing (i have more than one email address) is spam from the same scource always starts off the same

eg.

123@spam, 345@spam 864@spam

the common thing being the spam bit.

so in blocked senders i remove the first bit so anything from @spam gets blocked

although i do have OE not O

as i type one just came in so i jsut did as i said (i have formatted my hd last week so all blocked were lost)

Just a quick one.

When doing as Breezer says, be aware that if you remove the first part of an email and add it to your blocked list, ie: @yahoo.co.uk then ALL emails from that server will be blocked.

I use this method myself to block emails, and it is quite effective, but you must remember to ask yourself first. "would I get legit email from this server" When I first did this (had a stupid moment) I blocked all mail from some family members, they thought I was ignoring them, "not good"

We worked out that most of our Spam was a result of a family member using a cyber cafe whilst on holiday in Aus.

I have just had a new computer. The old one was 6 years old, and had Windows ME and Outlook Express. I had over the years compiled a large blocked senders list, and in Message Rules had entered all the usual naughty words, plus Viagra etc. This worked fine and I was getting very little spam.
It has now started coming again, so I am adding to Blocked Senders list daily, and to message rules, and feel sure that it will soon do the job.
