Hi,i want to change a radiator from a single to a double panel as my living room tends to be a bit chilly.problem is the pipes to the radiator valves come through the wall.so what i wanted to know is do plumbers,as a rule, leave enough pipe inside the wall to pull a bit through because the new valves will be about 25mm further away from the wall,or should i just leave well alone and put a jumper on instead.

The only way to find out is to disconnect the valves from the rad (watch out for loads of dirty water) and try pulling them forward. If it's a partition (plasterboard) wall then there's a good chance that they will be loose.
