Hot water pressure

Since moving into a new house the hot water pressure is complete rubbish. Its ok in the kitchen but the shower is perfetic.

the hot water tank is in the loft. there is 22ml pipe running to within about about 1 metre of the shower.

its a mixer shower.

any ideas on what i can do?

pop a pump on the system

Thanks Corgiman, i read somewhere that you shouldnt put a pump in the loft but it has to be next to the hot water tank and as my tank is in the loft it has to go up there.

do you know if this is true?
