Tumble dryer plumbing?

This is possibly a silly question, but does a tumble dryer need a water supply?

I understand that there are condensing and vented types. I plan to get a condensing one. A friend suggested that this might need a cold water supply to do the condensing. Is this the case?

a tumble dryer needs no water supply only a washer dryer needs one

I thought all the condensing ones needed a cold supply to cool the condenser. Ours does. Try the Appliances section
