Hi, I have a Kenmore top loader that will not shut off when it is done filling up. I had the same thing happen with a Maytag about a year ago. This is the first time I've had well water. Can well water cause the intake valve to clog and not close properly? Thanks!

I supposed the hard well water could be more wear and tear on a water valve but they seem to fair regardless whether the water is hard or not. Speaking for myself, I have very hard water and I also have a 15 year old Maytag that has not used a water valve in at least the eight years I have lived here, so maybe it was just "time" for those to fail.
