Hi, I\\\'ve just fitted a AGL Towel Rail in place of the existing Rad in my bathroom using a new Drayton TRV4. The problem I have is that where the valve connector goes into the Towel Rail will not seal! I have removed and refitted 6 times using various quantities of PTFE tape and Green Boss but every time there is a slight leak. The thread appears good on both the connector and towel rail, and it hasn\\\'t been cross threaded! It looks to be a tapered thead (can anyone confirm this) so \\\'ought\\\' to seal when tightened. Any suggestions for my next attempt? Thanks in advance |

Most towel radiators are badly designed and often have only a few threads, getting them watertight is a common problem.
Wind the PTFE to form a taper, in this way as the tail is screwed in the PTFE will form a "washer" as it backs up on the thread. Don't go too mad tightening it up as you may strip the threads. |
